Health news from Téo

Dear friends,

Much has changed since the Corona virus came to the Netherlands!  I will be on. Juli. 1: 83 old. I am one of those people who have to be careful. I don’t think that I can survive a Corona attack. The leadership of the Hartberg Monastery wanted more clarity about my commitment. The end result was that I thanked them for their willingness to let me be there so often, but that I sensed I needed to go home rather than a full time commitment to the work of the Monastery.

There are evenings that I say “good night”  to the Lord and sometimes add “see you in the morning or in heaven”. Death is not a great problem for me. Naturally, I wished that I could see my two great-grand-children grow up, at least until they can remember me after I am gone. We don’t have much to say about that though.
I do know that my work with seriously traumatized people has taken a toll on my heart as well. Naturally I felt with them and was at times greatly troubled about the content of the stories they told me, even when I could give all I heard to the Lord and sleep peacefully.
I have the last two weeks again a visit from the lady-journalist who is working on a book for me about my life. I gave her a suitcase full of cassette tapes and CD’s  with recording of my teaching, so she could pick out some things she finds interesting for her writing. Yesterday when we were praying, I saw powers of darkness grin, while they were waiting for me, but the Lord showed me also that I was surrounded by His protection and said: “Don’t be afraid. I am there”. That gives us the courage to go on. Until it is time to go and I hope I will meet you there in heaven.
It seems that until there is an injection against Corona, I will be here in my private Chapel where I can pray and worship. My mornings are usually filled with that, while the afternoons/evenings is for computer work, and counseling using FaceTime and a walk of at least 20-30 minutes. I have been using a stick, but a visit to the MD office made that I was strongly advised to use a walker. So with the help of one of my daughters that arrived this week as well. Twice a week a  “supermarkt” truck comes to visit the apartment building where I live, so I don’t have to go far to get my daily provisions.
My request to you is: please pray that I will use my time wisely. That His smile stays upon me and that I get some more time to enjoy my family, especially my grand-children and great-grandchildren. Pray too for protection against the Coronavirus.
I am so grateful to the Lord for His goodness over the years, for his forgiveness where I failed and for his love that chases away fear! Gratefulness is the theme of my life and I hope this will also be the theme when the burial service is due.
I know that the organization who takes care of that, has streaming-on the internet in place. So If possible a recording will be also added as a last contribution to my blog tjvdweele.com.
Many blessings on you all,
Téo
